We are not only at the beginning of a very vast project. We intend in the near future to develop several other aspects of this marvelous raw material offered to us. One of the most important points will be that of the work entirely by hand of the wool, for this, we are in partnership at this very moment with a community of women 10th of the Sacred Valley. It is a rather special community that we have chosen, we are going to tell you some of the most important aspects.

The project of this community began in the 70s when a family became interested in the techniques of natural colors lost as the boom in industrial and chemical techniques. To do this, they began a long journey through the Andes to meet forgotten villages where ancestral techniques persisted. Hard work at a time when Peru was not as safe as it is today and where the old customs still existed: the natives of these villages were afraid that by passing on their knowledge, they would lose part of their soul. After long parliamentarians and negotiation with chefs(and)s de these communities and almost 30 years of work a large part of these natural colors as well as weaving techniques were found.

These knowledge thus found were then compiled and taught to the women of the village of Chinchero in the Sacred Valley. Apart from the perpetuation of a forgotten millennial know-how, the goal was just as much to emancipate women. By giving them a social utility outside of household chores, a job and an income, they have since gained relative independence.
